Dear CACA Members and Chromatography Colleagues,

The Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) will host a Dinner Event and a Career Development Networking at Pittcon 2020 (March 1-5, 2020) in Chicago, IL.

The Dinner Event will be held on Tuesday (5:30 - 9:00 pm, March 3, 2020) at Phoenix Restaurant (2131 S Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60616). CACA has arranged two shuttle buses to transport all attendees from the convention center to the restaurant and from the restaurant to hotels (see details in the flyer of CACA dinner event).  Buses will be at the Gate 26 of the  convention center during 5:00 to 5:30 pm. CACA will present several awards at the dinner event:

  • A 2020 CACA Young Investigator Award (YIA) to James Grinias at Rowan University. 
  • Two 2020 CACA Student Excellence Awards (SEA) to Trisha Tucholski at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Lei Wang at Clemson University.

Our invited speaker will be Dr. Jack Henion, Chairman and CSO of Advion BioSciences. He will present a 20 min speech on “How to Mix Business with Fun: Flying a Private Airplane to a Cannabis Science Conference”.  All attendees interested in broadcasting their job openings or seeking job opportunities will have networking time towards the end of the event.  We are expecting ~100-130 attendees.

The Career Development Networking on “How to be successful in your career” is scheduled on Wednesday, March 4, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM in Room 470A at the convention center. The invited panelists are Dr. Chengjie Ji of NovaBioAssays, Dr. Jin Qin of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dr. Chuping Luo of Advanced Materials Technology, and Dr. Tao Jiang of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Note that this is a special networking and not an official Pittcon event.

The detailed agenda for the dinner event will be posted on the CACA website at ca-ca.org as well as broadcasted as LinkedIn posts. CACA will subsidize >50% of the dinner cost for students and unemployed attendees.
