Dr. Zhang received his B.S. from Lanzhou University, China and his M.S. from the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He joined Purdue University in 1996, and worked in Dr. Fred E. Regnier’s laboratory. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 2001, Dr. Zhang joined Beyond Genomics, Inc., a systems biology company in Boston, to develop bioanalytical and bioinformatics platforms for disease biomarker discovery and validation. In 2004, Dr. Zhang returned to Purdue University as the Director of
Computational Life Sciences and Informatics and Research Assistant Professor at the Bindley Bioscience Center, Discovery Park. Dr. Zhang joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisville as an Associate Professor in 2008. His research focus on the development of high throughput bioanalytical methods and bioinformatics tools for the analyses of complex mixtures derived from living systems, to facilitate the development of preventive, predictive, and personalized medicine for the promotion of health and wellness.
