yis photo 2020 CopyDr. Yi He studied applied chemistry and environmental chemical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China and analytical chemistry in National University of    Singapore (NUS) before completing her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 2004 at the City University of New York (CUNY). She took a position as an Assistant Professorof Chemistry at John Jay College of Criminal Justice of CUNY in fall 2004 and was promoted to full professor in 2016.

During 2012-13, Dr. He worked as a guest researcher in Chemical Science Division at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Dr. He’s research interests include method development of novel sample preparation techniques, microextraction in specific, and their application to forensic and environmental analysis; elucidation of multi-element fingerprints of forensically important trace evidence; and investigation of trace toxic elements (arsenic, cadmium and lead) in samples with forensic and/or public health interests.
